During the ceremony, the veteran record producer is supported by his daughter Rashida Jones as well as the likes of Snoop Dogg and Usher.

AceShowbiz - Quincy Jones was honored on Tuesday, November 27 at a hand and footprint ceremony in front of the TCL Chinese Theatre IMAX in Hollywood, California. The 85-year-old became the first composer to have his hand and foot prints enshrined in cement in Hollywood.

Sporting a black cap bearing the slogan "University of the Hood", Quincy added his signature as well as the date of the ceremony above his hand and foot prints on the block of cement. During his speech, he told the crowd about how he used to sit in movie theaters dreaming of composing film scores and thanked the likes of Sidney Poitier and director Sidney Lumet for helping him break through in the film industry.

"I could never ever have imagined that those dreams would lead me to here this moment and to be honest it is a little bit overwhelming," he said. "I am told I am the first composer to have the honor of being enshrined here at the Chinese Theatre, so as the first I want to say that I share this recognition with all my fellow composers and dear friends and colleagues past and present."

Quincy was supported by his daughter Rashida Jones as well as music industry pals including Snoop Dogg, Usher and Dr. Dre. The 42-year-old actress also took the podium to deliver her speech, describing her father as a "true force of nature who has put his unique stamp on every decade of culture as we've known it over the last 70 years."

Directing a Netflix documentary about the veteran record producer, she continued, "When my dad first saw this documentary about his life, the first thing he said was, 'I wish I could live forever.' And knowing that he's been the first through so many doors and a barrier breaker in his entire life, he probably will live forever."
