Dwayne Johnson and Jason Statham's characters have an intense staring content in the black-and-white image shared on Instagram.

AceShowbiz - Here's the first look at "Hobbs and Shaw" starring Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson and Jason Statham. On Wednesday, October 3, the wrestler-turned-actor took to Instagram to share the first picture from "The Fast and the Furious" spin-off.

The black-and-white image hints that a tension is brewing among Johnson's Luke Hobbs and Statham's Deckard Shaw. Johnson teased in the caption, "We either gonna get along or we gonna get it on. F**k getting along."

He added, "Great first week of shooting our Fast & Furious spin-off, 'HOBBS & SHAW' with my ace @jasonstatham. We're havin' a blast disrupting the norm to deliver something fresh, cool, fun and bad a** for the fans."

Johnson previously shared a set picture featuring Statham and director David Leitch on the first day of production last September. The "Skyscraper" star, however, hadn't joined his co-star on the set at the time as he was still in Hawaii to film Disney's "Jungle Cruise".

Plot details of "Hobbs and Shaw" are still kept under wraps, but it has been confirmed that Helen Mirren is going to reprise her role as Shaw's feisty mum Magdalene. "The Crown" star Vanessa Kirby will play an MI-5 agent, who just happens to be Shaw's sister, while Idris Elba is cast as a villain in the movie.

Johnson joined "The Fast and the Furious" franchise in the fifth movie "Fast Five" (2011), while Statham's character was first introduced in the seventh installment "Furious 7" (2015). The spin-off was greenlit by Universal Pictures in late 2017. It is scheduled for a July 26, 2019 U.S. release.

"Fast and Furious 9", meanwhile, is set to arrive on April 10, 2020, being pushed back a year from its original release date of April 19, 2019. The franchise star Tyrese Gibson blamed Johnson and the spin-off for the delay, writing on Instagram in October 2017, "Congratulations to @TheRock and your brother in law aka 7 bucks producing partner @hhgarcia41 for making the fast and the furious franchise about YOU. And like you, DJ even if they call I will not be deleting this post. Gn folks see you in 2020 April #FastFamily right? Nah..... it's about #TeamDewayne #3yrs will it be worth the wait? "
