The longtime friends have decided to part ways amid reports suggesting they are both eyeing individual deals with HBO.

AceShowbiz - Girls co-creators Lena Dunham and Jenni Konner have ended their creative partnership.

The longtime friends have split as producing partners ahead of the upcoming expiration date of their joint deal with HBO, amid reports suggesting they are both eyeing individual deals with the network.

"We have had one of the most significant relationships together in our adult lives and we respect each other's choices," Dunham and Konner said in a joint statement to The Hollywood Reporter. "While our interests are pulling us in different directions right now, we are excited about our current work and are firmly committed to the projects we have together.

"HBO has been our home for quite some time and we look forward to continuing there as we both move forward".

The pair has just wrapped the first season of its HBO comedy Camping, which Dunham and Konner executive produced.

It is not clear if the pair's Lenny Letter website and book imprint will be impacted by the split.

This is not the first major split of 2018 for Lena - she and her longtime boyfriend Jack Antonoff called time on their relationship in January.
