In a short promo for season 6, President Underwood can be seen saying, 'Happy Independence Day... to me.'

AceShowbiz - New President Claire Underwood (Robin Wright) celebrates her first Fourth of July as POTUS. Through the official Twitter account of "House of Cards", the newly-minted Commander-in-Chief releases a July 4th message in the form of a short video.

The video opens with President Underwood in a white chair. "Happy Independence Day... to me," she says. It is later followed by the hashtag #MyTurn, indicating that it's her turn to take over the White House.

In the sixth and final season of the Netflix drama, Claire will replace Kevin Spacey's Frank Underwood as he resigned as President at the end of season 5. Production on the sixth season was halted last year following multiple misconduct allegation against the actor, which later led to him being fired from the series.

In addition to some "House of Cards" crew members, "Star Trek: Discovery" actor Anthony Rapp was among people who came forward with sexual misconduct allegations levelled against the Oscar-winning actor.

The upcoming sixth season will be centering on Robin's character. Also starring in the new season are Greg Kinnear, Diane Lane, Michael Kelly, Jayne Atkinson, Patricia Clarkson, Constance Zimmer, Derek Cecil, Campbell Scott, Boris McGiver and Cody Fern.

The production of season 6 continued earlier this year, aiming a 2018 premiere date.
