AceShowbiz - Kevin Spacey has firmly rejected the diagnosis of sexual compulsive behavior during his testimony in a Santa Monica courtroom.

The actor appeared in court as part of an ongoing legal dispute involving Media Rights Capital, the production company behind the Netflix series House of Cards. The case revolves around financial losses linked to the show’s final season after Spacey was removed from the project amid controversy.

During the proceedings, Spacey discussed his time at The Meadows, a rehabilitation center in Arizona, where he sought treatment following public allegations of sexual misconduct made against him in 2017. Court documents presented during the trial stated that Spacey had been diagnosed with sexual compulsive behavior, a label he disputed.

"I only found out later that they had in fact diagnosed me as sexually compulsive," he told jurors. "I can't professionally dispute that, but I can personally dispute it."

Spacey further explained that the rehab facility encouraged him to accept the “sex addict” label publicly, which he found problematic. "It was very much obvious they wanted me to be a sex addict," he said during his testimony.

He also stated that he felt prepared to continue working on House of Cards before the situation escalated. However, a psychiatric expert called by the production company contradicted this view, asserting that Spacey would have had difficulty fulfilling his professional duties at the time.

The trial is part of a broader legal battle over whether an insurance company wrongly denied coverage related to Spacey’s 2017 exit from the show.
