The late fashion and bag designer reportedly left a message to her daughter Frances Beatrix that she loved her and that her death is not her daughter's fault.

AceShowbiz - Kate Spade left a suicide note before her tragic death and now details of her final words have been revealed. According to police, the co-founder and former co-owner of the designer brand Kate Spade New York addressed the suicide note to her only child Frances Beatrix and husband Andy Spade.
Law enforcement sources tell TMZ that the note was found on a bed near her body. She reportedly wrote a heartbreaking message to her daughter which read, "Bea - I have always loved you. This is not your fault. Ask Daddy!"
Kate hanged herself with a red scarf tied to a closet door knob in her bedroom at her and Andy's Park Avenue home in Manhattan on Tuesday morning, June 5. A housekeeper found her body at 10:20 A.M. ET and quickly ran downstairs to the building's main floor to tell the building's superintendent, who then rushed upstairs, cut the scarf and attempted CPR.
She was pronounced dead by paramedics at the scene.
Her sister Reta Saffo confirmed Kate suffered from mental illness for the last three or four years and was self medicating with alcohol. Reta wrote in an email after her sister's passing that she and her family had tried to get the fashion and bag designer treatment for her mental illness, but she refused.
"I'd come so VERY close to getting her to go in for treatment. I'd spoken with them on the phone (not telling them exactly who the patient would be). They agreed to fly in and talk with her and take her with them to the treatment center," Reta said.
"She was all set to go -- but then chickened out by the morning," Reta added. "She was definitely worried about what people would say if they found out." According to Reta, Kate's husband Andy even assisted in trying to coax Kate into treatment, but "nothing ever came of it."
"After numerous attempts, I finally let go," she added. "Sometimes you simply cannot SAVE people from themselves! One of the last thing she said to me was, 'Reta, I know you hate funerals and don't attend them, but for me would you PLEASE come to MINE, at least. Please!' I know she perhaps had a plan, but she insisted she did not."
The Post reported that Kate was having a relationship problem with her husband prior to taking her own life. "It was over family problems ... in her relationship," said a police source.
