The 'This Is Us' star worked at a talent agency where she represented young stars like Ariana and Dove Cameron, before making it big in Hollywood.

AceShowbiz - Chrissy Metz once worked as talent agent for stars such as Ariana Grande and Dove Cameron. The actress has risen to fame since landing the part of Kate Pearson on NBC's drama "This Is Us", with her performances earning her Primetime Emmy Award and Golden Globe nominations.

But prior to making it big in Hollywood, Chrissy supplemented her acting gigs with work at a talent agency, where she looked after several rising names. "I was a talent agent for nine years," she said during an appearance on "The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon" on Wednesday night, May 16. "I ended up working in the youth department and becoming an agent myself, represented Ariana Grande, Dove Cameron. I was on the team that represented both of those incredible ladies. It's so fun. Also, you know they're going to be stars when you meet them for the first time."

Chrissy went on to explain that she represented Ariana right after she had appeared in a supporting role in musical "13" and when she was cast on Nickelodeon's TV show "Victorious" in 2009.

During the chat, the star also spoke about her new book entitled "This Is Me: Loving the Person You Are Today", in which she reflects on her both setbacks and successes. Although she was initially hesitant to write about her life, several meetings with fans changed her mind.

"I'd meet people and cry with them in bathrooms. And people would always ask, 'How did you become successful?' And I'm like, 'I don't know,' " the 37-year-old recalled. "It was helpful for me. So, I went back and thought about my life lessons and I really realised, it's not what happens to you, it's what happens for you. (I wrote about) every single lesson that informed my life. It was really advantageous to kind of share and be very vulnerable in the process. But it's scary. There's some deep stuff about my life."
