AceShowbiz - Troye Sivan has released another new track prior to the release of his forthcoming sophomore album. Titled "Bloom", the atmospheric track arrived on Thursday, March 3 along with its lyrics video, which is animated by Jason Ebeyer.
Produced by Oscar Holter, "Bloom" is a subtle sex song which finds the Australian singer singing about giving up your virginity to a loved one. "I guess it's something like a fun fair/ Put gas into the motor," he rhymes over sparkling beats. "And boy I'll meet you right there/ We'll ride the roller coaster."
The accompanying lyrics video, meanwhile, finds an animated Troye roams around a garden full of flowers. As the video goes on, he is later seen floating in the air while moving to a warehouse. The end of the clip sees the "There for You" singer lying on the floor.
In an interview with Coup de Main magazine, Troye said of the song, "It just ended up being a little bit ironic. It sounds like a commercial viable pop song -- it's very, very pop. It feels almost like a borderline bubblegum, a little bit. We had so much fun writing it. And then the lyrics -- it's one of the dirtiest songs on the album."
"Bloom" is the third single off his sophomore album, which still doesn't have a release date or a title. It follows "My My My!" and "The Good Side". Details on the effort and upcoming tour in support of the set will be announced soon.
The forthcoming album will be a follow-up to "Blue Neighbourhood", which peaked at No. 7 on the Billboard 200 albums chart back in 2015. Aside from working on the new album, Troye recently launched an app which has exclusive content, merchandises and more.
