The episode featured more eager hopefuls auditioning, hoping they would get a chance to head over to Hollywood to compete on the revived show. The first singer to perform before judges Katy Perry, Luke Bryan and Lionel Richie was Crystal Alicea. She showed off her delicate voice while belting out "Lay Me Down" by Sam Smith and went to the Hollywood as the judges gave her a "yes."

The second artist was a country singer named Kristyn Harris. Singing "Cowboy's Sweetheart", Kristyn also flaunted her yodelling skills. Lionel and Luke voted for her, while Katy thought that she wasn't right for the show.

Johnny Brenns was the first singer-songwriter that night. He performed a gentle ballad titled "Blue Jeans", but judges asked for more. Later, Katy and Luke were perfectly convinced that Johnny was meant for the show, while Lionel said, "no."

Tyler Gordon hoped that his ability to sing six different octaves would earn him a "yes," but judges thought that it was over the top and Tyler was forced to head back home. He was followed by Johnny White who performed "It's A Man's Man's Man's World". He awed the judges and with no surprise, the judges voted him through to Hollywood,

Caleeb Lee Hutchinson performed next, singing The SteelDrivers' "If It Hadn't Been for Love". His deep voice convinced the judges, who all gave him a "yes." It was followed by Ryan Zamo. He performed Katy's favorite song, "Gravity" by Sara Bareilles. Unfortunately, the judges were not impressed and he walked away without the ticket. Milo & Julian Spasato later sang Bruno Mars' "Runaway Baby" and it was "dope," according to Katy. They got the ticket.
