AceShowbiz - Carrie Underwood has posted her first Instagram selfie since a hard fall that left her with multiple injuries late last year. The 34-year-old singer previously warned her fans that she "might look a bit different" after she got 40-50 stitches after sustaining an injury on her face during the fall.
The "American Idol" alum took to the photo-sharing site to share her photo with husband Mike Fisher to support the End It Movement. While there were no signs of scars, part of Carrie face around her lips and chin area was pretty much covered by a huge red "X" sign.
"Together, we're in it to end it! Help us shine a light on modern day slavery," she captioned it. The End It Movement is dedicated to help millions of people who are "trapped, trafficked, exploited and enslaved" around the world.
Carrie "took a hard fall on some steps outside her home" on November 10, her rep confirmed, adding that "while there were no life-threatening injuries, she was taken to the hospital to be treated. She sustained multiple injuries including a broken wrist and some cuts and abrasions from the fall."
Giving an update on her recovery process, the "Before He Cheats" hitmaker revealed an injury on her face required 40-50 stitches. "I'll spare you the gruesome details, but when I came out of surgery the night of my fall, the doctor told Mike that he had put between 40 and 50 stitches in," she wrote in a post to her fan club members.
"I am grateful that it wasn't much, much worse. And I am grateful for the people in my life that have been there every step of the way," she added. "And when I am ready to get in front of a camera, I want you all to understand why I might look a bit different."
The singer/songwriter has not been seen in public since the accident. It was recently reported that she is pregnant with her and her husband Mike's second child, but they have neither denied nor confirmed the rumors.
