Sarah Silverman is back on the market. The 47-year-old comedienne and Michael Sheen have called it quits after nearly four years together. Sarah broke the news to her Twitter followers on Monday, February 5.

"The great @michaelsheen & I consciously uncoupled over Christmas," she wrote on the micro-blogging site. "I mean, not 'over Christmas' - like that wasn't the fight that ended it. No fight. We just live in different countries & it got hard. Felt we should just tell y'all so u stop askin, 'How's Michael/How's Sarah?' "

Sarah and Michael were first romantically linked back in 2014 after meeting on the set of Showtime's "Masters of Sex". The pair were first photographed together with other celebrities on February 6, the night Sheen celebrated his 45th birthday at West Hollywood hotspot Craig's.

Last year, Sarah dished on her long-distance relationship with the British actor during her appearance on her ex-boyfriend Jimmy Kimmel's late night talk show. "He's my on-again, off-again lover," she told Jimmy, whom she dated from 2002 to 2009. "I call him on-again, off-again because we're apart by oceans -- one oceans."

"His daughter turned 18 and he wanted to go home," she added. "He was here to be with his nearest daughter, now she's off, she's gonna start her own life." Sarah then explained that the "Passengers (2016)" star was motivated to return to the U.K. so that he could be involved in the politics affecting his country.

"You know how I'm like, kind of politically active? Well he wants to be [too], and he needs to be home to do that, so there's a lot," she said. "And then we just long for each other and we see each other and we love each other."

The couple's last public appearance was in October last year when Michael showed up to the premiere of Sarah's Hulu Show "I Love You, America" at Chateau Marmont in Los Angeles, California.
