Jennifer Lopez is heading back to "Will & Grace". As if her return to the Emmy-winning comedy is not exciting enough, the "Amor, Amor, Amor" singer is set to play two different roles.
The singer/dancer/actress will appear in guest capacity, playing both herself and her "Shades of Blue" character, New York Police Department detective Harlee Santos.
In case someone needs a refresher, the multi-hyphenate artist guest-starred in two episodes of the newly-revived show's sixth season. It was when Karen (Megan Mullally) got married to Lyle Finster (John Cleese).
Jennifer also appeared in the season 7 premiere, during which it was revealed that she grew up in the Bronx with Karen's maid Rosario (Shelley Morrison). Jennifer performed her hit "Waiting for Tonight" at Karen and Lyle's wedding, with Jack (Sean Hayes) serving as her back-up dancer.
More details about how Jennifer's double roles will work on the NBC series have yet to be disclosed. Also guest-starring on "Will & Grace" are "Glee" alum Jane Lynch and Tony-nominee Andrew Rannells.
The revival show featured original cast members Debra Messing, Megan Mullally, Sean Hayes and Eric McCormack reprising their roles as Grace, Karen, Jack and Will respectively. Also among the returning actors are Harry Connick Jr., Minnie Driver and Bobby Cannavale.
The original series ran from 1998 to 2006 on NBC. Revolving around a gay man, Will, and his best friends, Grace, Jack and Karen, the comedy won 16 Primetime Emmy Awards over its run. "Will & Grace" earned Hayes a nomination of the award for Outstanding Performance by a Male Actor in a Comedy Series at the 2018 Screen Actors Guild Awards, which will be broadcast on January 21 on both TNT and TBS at 8 P.M. EST.
"Will & Grace" airs on Thursdays at 9 P.M. on NBC.
