'The Simpsons' Teases Ed Sheeran's Guest Role in New Preview

The 'Castle on the Hill' hitmaker is set to voice a character named Brendan, a jazz pianist and a love interest for Lisa Simpson.
Ed Sheeran doesn't show any sign of slowing down his acting/voice-acting career. Despite the backlash he got after making a cameo appearance on "Game of Thrones", the "Shape of You" singer is moving forward with another guest-starring role, and this time he's set to lend his voice to "The Simpsons".

The long-running FOX animated series has released a new promo, previewing the British crooner's character. Ed will be voicing a character named Brendan, a jazz pianist.

The teaser of the upcoming episode, titled "Haw Haw Land", shows Brendan playing music with Springfield's own living jazz musician, Lisa Simpson. "You didn't applaud," Ed's character tells Lisa Simpson.

Meanwhile, Homer doesn't seem impressed with the jam session. "Oh no! They're playing in time to the beat of my banging," the iconic patriarch says while banging on the kitchen wall to silence their noise.

Brendan is poised to be the love interest for Lisa Simpson, whom she meets at a STEM conference. Ed's character will also be caught in a love triangle between Lisa and resident town bully Nelson Muntz.

"He keeps alternating [between], 'You're not that great, but you could be fantastic,' and she keeps falling for him because of his talent," the series' producer Al Jean previously explained.

Ed seems excited with his new gig as he previously took to his Instagram account to share the news. "This year continues to be equally surreal and amazing. Watch out of this one, me and Lisa have a whole thing going on x," the "Perfect" singer wrote alongside a screenshot of an article of him voicing Brendan on "The Simpsons".
