AceShowbiz - Ed Sheeran has dumped his Twitter account following mixed responses to his cameo on "Game of Thrones". It looked like the "Shape of You" hitmaker didn't want anything to do with the site anymore, as his account abruptly disappeared hours after his appearance on the popular series.
Sheeran's decision to delete his account was likely because of Twitter trolls who criticized his role on "Game of Thrones". @TheDiLLon1 tweeted, "Top Three Characters I've wanted to see murdered on 'Game of Thrones' 3. Joffrey 2. Ramsey 1. Ed Sheeran." Meanwhile, @ComedianKenGarr wrote, "Ed Sheeran on #got is like when the Harlem Globetrotters were on Scooby Doo. It's like what're we doing here?"

@DanaSchwartzzz criticized Sheeran's cameo, writing, "Nothing takes me out of a fantasy world like a random Ed Sheeran appearance." Similarly, @poniewozik tweeted, "The Ed Sheeran scene was actually an interesting moment/departure that was overshadowed by putting Ed Sheeran in it."

@lesleywright_ compared Sheeran's acting skill to animated character Spongebob, tweeting, "Ed Sheeran's cameo in #GameOfThrones was about as discreet as Spongebob impersonating Squidward on Opposite Day." Meanwhile, @nota_regularmom posted a GIF to show her reaction to the singer's cameo.

Sheeran has been known for his love-hate relationship with Twitter. Earlier this month, he hinted that he would quit the site because people kept posting mean things about him. He later shut down the rumors, saying that he hadn't quit anything and only stopped reading the tweets. It seemed like the cruel trolls had gone too far so that he was forced to literally stop using Twitter. However, Sheeran appeared to be quite an active Instagram user. He recently shared some behind-the-scenes pictures taken from "Game of Thrones" filming set.
