"Jersey Shore" will be back on MTV. After their short reunion on E!'s "Road Trip Reunion", the cast of the reality TV series will return for a new show on MTV. Titled "Jersey Shore Family Vacation", the new show is scheduled to air in 2018.

MTV announced during the Monday, November 27 premiere of "Floribama Shore", a new show with a different cast, that all but one of the original cast members would return for the revival. The returning cast includes Deena Nicole Cortese, Paul "DJ Pauly D" Delvecchio, Jennifer JWoww Farley, Vinny Guadagnino, Ronnie Ortiz-Magro, Snooki a.k.a. Nicole Polizzi and Mike "The Situation" Sorrentino.

Meanwhile, Sammi Giancola, better known as Sweetheart, is noticeably missing from the announcement. Being part of the original series since the first season, Sammi had an-again/off-again relationship with Ronnie.

Snooki and JWoww took to their Instagram pages to share the announcement.

Sammi previously participated in E!'s "Road Trip Reunion: Return to the Jersey Shore" along with Snooki, Pauly D, The Situation, JWoww and Deena. It's unknown why she skips the upcoming revival.

"Jersey Shore" creator/executive producer SallyAnn Salsano and her 495 Productions will return to executive produce "Jersey Shore Family Vacation". The upcoming show is part of MTV's strategy to revive some of the network's popular unscripted franchises. Other shows recently rebooted by the network include "My Super Sweet 16", "TRL" and "Unplugged".

The original "Jersey Shore", which aired from 2009 until 2012, followed the lives of eight housemates spending their summer at the Jersey Shore in the U.S. state of New Jersey. Throughout its six-season run, the show was also filmed in different locations, bringing the cast to Florida in season 2 and to Italy in season 4.

Its spin-off titled "Snooki & JWoww" followed the two stars as they started a new chapter in their lives as wives and mothers. It ran for four seasons.
