'X-Men: Dark Phoenix' to Kill Off One of These Major Characters
Movie

Either Mystique, Magneto, Professor X or Beast will reportedly be killed when Jean Grey finally loses control and goes full Phoenix in the upcoming film.

AceShowbiz - One major "X-Men" character reportedly will be killed off in "X-Men: Dark Phoenix". Fans have yet to get a single official image from the upcoming "X-Men" film since production on the flick wrapped over a month ago, but a new report from That Hashtag Show has emerged revealing some new plot details.

According to the news outlet, fans can expect a major character death when Jean Grey (Sophie Turner) finally loses control and goes full on Phoenix in the Simon Kinberg-directed flick. The site claims that the helmer seemingly "is holding nothing back and that in a moment when Jean's powers are on full display, they will become too much for the hero to handle."

At this point, only Mystique (Jennifer Lawrence), Magneto (Michael Fassbender), Professor X (James McAvoy) and Beast (Nicholas Hoult) remain as mutants left standing from "X-Men: First Class". While the ill-fated character's identity is not revealed yet, one of them apparently will be "unequivocally" killed when she/he is impaled by Phoenix while she's displaying her full power.

No other details are known about "Dark Phoenix" as of now. Also written by Simon Kinberg, the film will center on Jean Grey, who develops dangerously amplified telepathic powers when she comes into contact with the Phoenix, a cosmic entity that eventually takes over her personality. The connection births the Dark Phoenix and transforms Jean into a deadly force battling the X-Men.

The upcoming film also sees the return of Evan Peters as Peter Maximoff a.k.a. Quicksilver. Reprising their roles from "X-Men: Apocalypse" are Olivia Munn as Psylocke, Alexandra Shipp as Ororo Munroe a.k.a. Storm, Tye Sheridan as Scott Summers a.k.a. Cyclops and Kodi Smit-McPhee as Kurt Wagner a.k.a. Nightcrawler. Jessica Chastain joins the cast as Lilandra, while Daniel Cudmore and Lamar Johnson appear in undisclosed roles.

"X-Men: Dark Phoenix" is coming to theaters across the nation on November 2, 2018.
