The trailer of the second season of the FX series concludes with a creepy conversation between Gianni Versace and his killer Andrew Cunanan played in voiceover.

AceShowbiz - FX has debuted the first official full-length trailer of "The Assassination of Gianni Versace: American Crime Story". The new trailer is offering a better insight into Darren Criss' character, serial killer Andrew Cunanan, as well as giving an extended look at Penelope Cruz as Gianni Versace's sister Donatella in the second season of the hit anthology series.

The trailer opens with a scene of Antonio D'Amico (Ricky Martin), Gianni's longtime lover, screaming for help upon discovering his partner's dead body in the steps of the designer's lavish Miami mansion. Andrew, meanwhile, is seen fleeing the scene with a gun in one of his hands.

"He was a creator. He was a genius. Everything you see around us, this house, this company, was his life. I would not allow that man--that nobody--to kill my brother twice," a teary-eyed Donatella says. A scene of her, donning a black veil over her head, walking toward his brother’s coffin flickers on the screen.

Unlike "The People v. O.J. Simpson", the new installment takes place before and after the main murder. The trailer features Gianni's first meeting with his killer in a club, where the famed fashion designer is seemingly impressed by Andrew.

Viewers are also offered a better look at Darren's character. Elsewhere in the trailer, he can be seen killing an older man after wrapping his head with tape.

The trailer concludes with a conversation between Gianni and Andrew played in voiceover. "This world has wasted me," Gianni says, to which Andrew responds in a creepy voice, "And yet this world also made you, Mr. Versace, into a star. You're not better than me or the same. The only difference is that you got lucky."

Based on the book "Vulgar Favors: Andrew Cunanan, Gianni Versace, and the Largest Failed Manhunt in U.S. History" by Maureen Orth, the 10-episode second season will center on the assassination of Gianni Versace in Miami in July 1997. Serial murderer Andrew, who killed five people that year, committed suicide eight days later on a house boat.

"Versace: American Crime Story" will premiere on January 17, 2018 on FX.
