Jonah, who is set to star on the dark comedy alongside Emma Stone, looked completely different from his usual look on the New York set of "Maniac" on Wednesday, September 20. The slimmed down Jonah sported braided hair as well as neck and hand tattoos.
The actor ditched his geeky frat boy look and traded it for a lean, street wise though guy look. He wore a black summer shirt, which he teamed with a pair of jeans and red sneakers. In another photo, the star was dressed in a brown hoodie.

"Maniac" is based on a Norwegian series of the same name. It follows a patient (Jonah) at a mental institution, who lives out adventures in his dream. Cary Fukunaga ("True Detective") is directing the upcoming series. Emma portrays a fellow patient in the institution.
Jonah has been working on losing some weight for his role on the series. He turned to his "22 Jump Street" co-star Channing Tatum for advice. "I gained weight for this movie 'War Dogs', and then I wanted to get in better shape, so I called Channing Tatum, and said, 'Hey, if I ate less and go to a trainer, will I get in better shape?' And he said, 'Yes, you dumb motherf**ker, of course you will, it's the simplest thing in the entire world,' " Jonah shared during his appearance on "The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon".
