Taecyeon of 2PM has quietly enlisted in military. His agency JYP Entertainment announced on Monday, September 4 that the "Let's Fight, Ghost" star enlisted into the recruit training center of the White Horse Unit in Gyeonggi Province at 2 P.M. KST.
The enlistment date and location were not revealed before as Taecyeon had previously expressed his desire to enlist quietly with just his family and 2PM members present. The 28-year-old singer/actor, however, hinted at his enlistment date when tweeting in July, "2PM's 9th anniversary" with a laughing symbol.

Taecyeon has also been applauded by fans for keeping his promise to enlist the military quietly this year. The "Assembly" star, who migrated to the U.S. with his parents when he was 10 years old, had to renounce his U.S. citizenship to enlist the military and underwent a back surgery to serve as an active-duty soldier.
He recently wrapped up the filming of OCN's mystery series "Save Me" and upcoming thriller "House of the Disappeared".
Taecyeon is the latest K-Pop idol to enlist in military this year, following Kyuhyun of Super Junior and Siwan of ZE:A. Other stars who recently began their military service include actors Joo Won and Ji Chang Wook, while "Midnight Runners" star Kang Ha Neul is set to begin his mandatory military service on September 11.
