The actor is expected to extend his portrayal of the English spy for two more movies, with the next film having the working title 'Shatterhand'.

AceShowbiz - Daniel Craig reportedly will return for two more James Bond movies. The Sun is the first to report the good news, saying that the 49-year-old actor is close to signing up for his fifth and sixth James Bond movies, with the next film allegedly being called "Shatterhand".

It was producer Barbara Broccoli who convinced Craig to pull on his tuxedo twice more. An insider told the news outlet that "there was plenty of talk about who would be the next Bond but Barbara has managed to talk Daniel into two more films."

The source explained that the actor "is loved by audiences around the world and has driven a real resurgence for the movies at the box office, so bosses knew they couldn't lose him just yet," before adding, "The script is nearly ready for the 25th film, provisionally titled 'Shatterhand' and scheduled to be released in November 2019, so there is no time to waste on getting Daniel locked in."

Negotiations are reportedly also taking place about the possibility of Craig's sixth James Bond film being a remake of 1969's film "On Her Majesty's Secret Service", which starred George Lazenby as the titular spy. "But the deal is almost done and the idea of returning to 'On Her Majesty's Secret Service' for the 26th movie is really exciting," according to the news outlet. "The film sees James get married, only for his wife to be killed, so it would be an explosive way to end his reign as 007."

Daniel's most recent James Bond movie was "Spectre" which was released in 2015. He is said to have clashed with director Sam Mendes on set due to "different creative opinions," leading to the actor nearly quitting the spy franchise. He even declared he would rather slash his wrist than reprise his role as the iconic spy.

Mendes won't return as a director for "Bond 25" which is set for a November 8, 2019 release in the United States. Recent report said that "White Boy Rick" helmer Yann Demange, "Arrival" director Denis Villeneuve and David Mackenzie, the filmmaker behind last year's "Hell or High Water", are the frontrunners to direct the next spy flick.
