Stallone is signed on for the upcoming installment to appear in a plot line about the big movie that will star Justin Hartley's Kevin.

AceShowbiz - A new addition to the much-awaited second season of NBC's hit show "This Is Us" is revealed. Sylvester Stallone was announced during TCA on Thursday, August 3 at the Beverly Hilton Hotel in Beverly Hills, California to guest star on the show.

Milo Ventimiglia helped enlist Stallone since he once shared screens with Sly in 2006's "Rocky Balboa". Stallone is expected to appear in a plot line about Kevin's new project, a movie which will star Justin Hartley's Kevin as a young soldier and have Ron Howard as a director. Creator Dan Fogelman said, "We needed a big star for his [Kevin's] movie and we're really excited about the [episode] script."

It's also revealed during the panel that Season 2 would start off in present day a few months after the finale of the first season. Meanwhile, the past would pick up "basically the morning after the big fight that has led to an early separation," Dan said of Jack and Rebecca's story line.

In the upcoming installment, Randall will find out more about his adoption while he and Beth are mulling over adopting another baby. Kate is pursuing her singing career and Kevin is working on a big movie and dating Sophie.

While a lot of teasers were generously shared during the event, Dan kept tight-lipped when asked about Jack's death. "If I say everything, there is nothing to watch," he reasoned. "If this is the question that is haunting people, in the course of the second season, you'll get the answers and more. The first episode has a first giant piece of the puzzle that will set the Internet abuzz. That's the best I can say without spoiling."
