'Do you know what Canada is going to call Carrie Underwood next week? 'Carrying the Stanley Cup around this great city of Nashville!' ' he joked at the award-giving event.

AceShowbiz - Ashton Kutcher turned the 2017 CMT Music Awards on Wednesday, June 7 into a pep rally for the hometown hockey club. "The Ranch" actor brought a dead catfish on stage and mic-dropped the fish in front of the audience while presenting the Collaborative Video of the Year award with his former "That '70s Show" co-star Danny Masterson.

The native Iowan embraced the Predators' tradition to throw catfishes on the ice as his way to support the team. "Do you know what Canada is going to call Carrie Underwood next week?" he threw a riddle, before revealing the answer, " 'Carrying the Stanley Cup around this great city of Nashville!' " The actor later hilariously dropped the fish from his hand after yelling, "Nashville!"

That was such a clever joke since Carrie definitely represented the team as her husband Mike Fisher, the Predators captain, is currently gearing up up to play in Game 5 of the Stanley Cup Finals against the Pittsburgh Penguins on Thursday, June 8.

During their speech, Ashton revealed that he and Danny were huge country fans. "And we're not the only ones," Ashton said. "Country has gone international. There are fans in Asia, Europe, Australia, probably even outer space," Danny added.

"The music is universal, but there some little things that don't exactly translate," he said, before adding, "For example, Blake Shelton is known as 'Boot man with prison tattoos who turns around a chair.' "

The duo continued joking around before announcing Keith Urban and Carrie as the winner of the award for "The Fighter". "In Australia, Keith Urban is often referred to as 'that lucky mate who married our Nicole,' " Danny joked.
