AceShowbiz - Yeti-centered animated flick "Smallfoot" has tapped Channing Tatum, Zendaya Coleman and Gina Rodriguez for lead voice roles. The project, which is now in production, is directed by Ryan O'Loughlin and based on a story by animator Sergio Pablos ("Rio"). The script is written by "This Is Us" showrunners John Reque and Glenn Ficarra.
While the original Yeti tale is told from humans' point of view, "Smallfoot" will turn Yeti lore 180 degrees. It will focus on a Yeti who believes the existence of humans despite her society thinking the otherwise. The movie is scheduled to be released on September 14, 2018.
Tatum is no stranger to having a voice role. He previously voiced Superman in "The Lego Batman Movie" and voiced a character named Joaquin in "The Book of Life". Tatum will next be seen in "Kingsman: The Golden Circle" as Agent Tequila and "Logan Lucky" as Jimmy Logan.
As for Zendaya, she will lend her voice in animated comedy "Duck Duck Goose" and will make an appearance in "Spider-Man: Homecoming". She will also star alongside Hugh Jackman in "The Greatest Showman".
