AceShowbiz - Kelly Ripa has finally got a new permanent co-host on "Live" after a long search, but she's reportedly not completely happy about it. Words are the former "All My Children" star is livid for being partnered with Ryan Seacrest on the ABC daytime talk show.
Radar Online reveals that it was "ultimately [ABC president] Ben Sherwood's call" to bring Ryan on the show. If it had been Ripa's call, she reportedly would have never chosen the former "American Idol" host as her new partner.
Of why Kelly is against hiring Ryan, a source says that Kelly "preferred someone less well-known." The source adds, "She wanted someone that she could boss around, and that isn't Ryan. He's as big of a star as she is!"
Kelly announced Ryan as the new co-host on Monday, May 1. He replaces Michael Strahan who left the show last year for "Good Morning America". A number of guest co-hosts, namely Anderson Cooper, Andy Cohen and Jimmy Kimmel, joined Kelly on the show before the permanent replacement was announced.
