Will Toledo, the frontman of the indie rock, writes on Twitter, 'As someone who contributed to the soundtrack for '13 Reasons Why', I am obliged to tell you all that it's kind of f**ked.'

AceShowbiz - Despite contributing a song to the soundtrack of "13 Reasons Why", Indie rock Car Seat Headrest is not happy with the plot of Netflix's controversial drama. The frontman of the band, Will Toledo, criticizes the show for glorifying teen suicide.

Toledo took to Twitter on Saturday, April 29 to express his strong opinion on the series executive produced by Selena Gomez. "As someone who contributed to the soundtrack for '13 Reasons Why', I am obliged to tell you all that it's kind of f**ked," he wrote on the microblogging site.

He added in another post, "Writers: please don't tell kids how to turn their miserable and hopeless lives into a thrilling and cathartic suicide mission." In addition, he tried to convince young people that the series was "not a narrative you need to subscribe to," before suggesting to "go watch ['Spring Breakers'] instead."

Car Seat Headrest's song titled "Oh! Starving" played in a scene of the penultimates episode of the series. During the scene, Hannah absentmindedly loses a check she was supposed to deposit for her parents.

"13 Reasons Why" is based on Young Adult novel written by Jay Asher. Created by Brian Yorkey, it centers around Hannah Baker (Katherine Langford), a teenager who explains her decision to commit suicide through a series of cassette tapes which she recorded before she took her own life. The tapes later are passed to everyone mentioned in the tapes, including Clay Jensen (Dylan Minnette) who has a secret crush on Hannah.
