'The Batman' Script Is Reportedly Ready, Ben Affleck Is 'Very Happy'

Reporter Justin Kroll suggests that 'The Batman' script 'came in this month' and is not rewritten from scratch, despite report.

AceShowbiz - Following recent report from Forbes which said that "The Batman" script might be fully rewritten, a new report emerges suggesting the opposite. Batman-News.com has taken to their Twitter account to ask Variety reporter Justin Kroll whether the rumor is true.

Kroll, who reported that Ben Affleck wouldn't direct "The Batman" last January, replies that "The Batman" script won't be rewritten from scratch. "No, several sources already saying new script came in this month and everyone including Emmerich and Ben very happy with it," he tweets, quoting Warner Bros. President and Chief Content Officer Toby Emmerich and Affleck's names.

Kroll's statement suggests that there's nothing to worry about, as the new script is ready and both Emmerich and Ben are very happy with it. However, neither Warner Bros. nor Affleck has given official statement about the progress on "The Batman" script.

On February 8, Forbes also reported that "The Batman" original script actually featured Joker and other DC villains. According to sources familiar with the project, "the story for 'The Batman' originally included the assassin Deathstroke as a main villain, with Joe Manganiello cast in the role, as well as a few other likely villainous appearances by characters including the Joker."

This report came along with questions whether Jared Leto would reprise his role as Joker in the upcoming "The Batman". However, there hasn't been any official announcement about whether or not Leto will appear in the movie. Deathstroke is so far the only villain confirmed to antagonize the Caped Crusader.
