According to Columbia Records CEO Rob Stringer, the British heartthrob has 'stepped up with the vision of someone who's authentic.'

AceShowbiz - Directioners are eagerly waiting for Harry Styles' debut solo album. After One Direction announced their hiatus back in 2015, Styles has been quietly working on his own set. And now, according to Columbia Records CEO Rob Stringer, the album will be released soon and fans won't be disappointed once it hits the shelves.

"We're close and we're very excited. We have a record we're incredibly excited about and it's not far away from being ready," Stringer told Billboard. "We obviously want everything to be beautifully done, because we think he's here to stay. Harry has stepped up with the vision of someone who's authentic."

Stringer then mentioned why other members of 1D like Niall Horan and Louis Tomlinson were able to gain success after releasing their solo singles within the past year. "They didn't box themselves into a corner singing and dancing," he said, adding that unlike other boybands, the group's initial approach to pop stardom helped them to avoid being limited in their early careers.

"It [One Direction] didn't have all the rules of the boybands of the past where they're too boy-next-door, too sickly sweet. They weren't caricatures," he said. "And today, they're making smart choices. It doesn't surprise me that there's a different path and they're doing pretty well. With One Direction, they became so big everywhere and from day one that their spread is much wider than other previous boybands."

2016 had been an amazing year for Styles. He made his solo magazine cover debut with three covers of Another Man. He also landed a role in Christopher Nolan's "Dunkirk" in which he stars alongside Cillian Murphy and Tom Hardy. The World War II-inspired flick is scheduled to be released in the U.S. on July 21.
