"The Lego Movie Sequel" finally finds a new director. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the second installment of "The Lego Movie" is going to be helmed by Mike Mitchell who is fresh off his DreamWorks Animation film "Trolls".

Rob Schrab ("Community", "The Mindy Project") was originally expected to direct the sequel, but he eventually left due to creative differences. Phil Lord and Chris Miller, the directors of the first film, helped with the draft rewritten by Raphael Bob-Waksberg ("BoJack Horseman").

The "Lego Movie Sequel" is scheduled for February 8, 2019 Stateside. It's unclear if any of the original voice cast that include Chris Pratt, Will Ferrell, Elizabeth Banks, Will Arnett, Liam Neeson and Morgan Freeman will return to the follow-up story. In the meantime, "The Lego Batman Movie" will hit theaters on February 10 to tide fans over.
