Bobby Brown Shoots Down Rumors of His 'Secret Health Crisis'
Celebrity

'I'm fine, and handsome, and healthy,' the singer said when responding to rumors that he was recently hospitalized and almost died.

AceShowbiz - Bobby Brown is doing just fine, everybody! Following rumors claiming that he recently had a health issue, the singer set the record straight during a chat with PEOPLE at the Boston premiere of the BET miniseries "The New Edition Story" over the weekend.

National Enquirer was one of the news outlets that reported Brown's alleged health crisis. The tabloid claimed that the musician nearly died last month as "decades of hardcore drug abuse and the stress" associated with his daughter Bobbi Kristina Brown's death "led to the rapper's intestines exploding."

"Bobby was home alone in Los Angeles when he collapsed in excruciating pain," a source said. "He crawled to his car and drove himself to the Providence Tarzana Medical Center. He arrived screaming for help and doctors rushed to his aid."

The publication added that Brown "lost 80 percent of his blood because of internal bleeding." He was given a blood transfusion and had to spend two days in the hospital. "It was terrifying, and rocked Bobby to the core," the source shared. "It's a miracle Bobby didn't die. He hasn't come to terms with losing his baby girl Bobbi, and we thought this could be the final straw! Everyone is distraught."

But none of these ever happened, Brown assured his fans. In his interview with PEOPLE, he joked, "People make up a lot of different stories about me. But, as you can see, I'm fine, and handsome, and healthy. Look at me. I'm happy as a lark."

During the chat, Brown also discussed his family and his late ex-wife Whitney Houston. Of being a father of seven, he said, "It's wonderful!" Meanwhile, he didn't look too happy to talk about Houston, who passed away nearly five years ago. "I miss her," he said of the late songbird. "I miss her."
