Sia Furler just added her name to the list of celebrities who split from their spouses in 2016. The 40-year-old singer/songwriter announced on Wednesday, December 7 that she separated from her husband Erik Anders Lang after two years of marriage.
"After much soul searching and consideration we have made the decision to separate as a couple," so the pair said in a statement released by her rep. "We are, however, dedicated to remaining friends. There will be no further comment."
Sia and Erik, who is a documentary filmmaker, tied the knot at a private wedding ceremony at her home in Palm Springs, California on August 2, 2014, two months after making their engagement public at a New York City gala. "Omg omg I'm so excited," she tweeted prior to the wedding.
The pair have mostly kept their relationship out of the public eye. They were last pictured together at the Spotify pre-Grammy party in February.
The "Elastic Heart" and "Cheap Thrills" hitmaker, who said in 2009 that she has "always dated boys and girls and anything in between," previously dated DJ/songwriter JD Samson from 2008 until 2011.
