The 'Voice' coach reportedly decided not to go to the annual award show after his 'dramatic showdown' with his ex-wife Lambert at last spring's ACM Awards.

Blake Shelton might be one of the biggest country superstars out there, but where was he during the 2016 CMA Awards? The 40-year-old country crooner reportedly chose to skip the annual event to avoid a run-in with his ex-wife Miranda Lambert, who brought along her boyfriend Anderson East.
OK! reported that Shelton decided to miss the show after his "dramatic showdown" with Lambert at the ACM Awards last spring. "But avoiding the site of Anderson cozying up to the woman he loved is not the only reason that Blake may have sat these awards out," it wrote.
The magazine went on suggesting that Shelton didn't want to see Lambert because he's not happy she's selling the house they shared when they were still married. In case you missed it, the "Vice" songbird is listing the 11,000 square-foot Tennessee mansion for $2.6 million.
This year's CMAs took place in Nashville on Wednesday night, November 2. Lambert came to the awards show as she was listed as one of the performers. However, her former lover's absence had nothing to do with her, her new beau or the house she's selling.
As Gossip Cop pointed out, Shelton didn't feel the need to be part of the CMAs because he wasn't even nominated for any awards. The site also noted that he and Lambert both attended last year's ceremony which was held just months after their split.
