James Bond producers are still hoping for Daniel Craig to return in the next 007 movie despite his reluctance. Executive producer Callum McDougall says on a chat with "BBC Radio 4 Today" that the Pierce Brosnan successor is "absolutely the first choice" for the next big screen installment.

"I wish I knew," the producer first said when asked about who the new Bond was. He then quickly added, "We love Daniel. We would love Daniel to return as Bond. Without any question he is absolutely Michael G. Wilson and Barbara Broccoli's first choice. I know they're hoping for him to come back."

Daniel Craig made his debut as Ian Fleming's 007 agent in 2006's "Casino Royale". He reprised his role in the next three films "Quantum of Solace", "Skyfall" and "Spectre". Back in 2012 just before "Skyfall" was released, producers said the actor had signed on for two more Bond films, meaning he would headline at least five 007 films.
