Justin Timberlake and Jessica Biel are scheduled to host a fundraiser for Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton. The celebrity couple steps in after fellow Hollywood star Leonardo DiCaprio abruptly backed out of the event.
Leo was supposed to host the event at his house in Los Angeles on Tuesday, August 23, but he was forced to cancel it due to scheduling conflicts. The actor, who is currently finishing his environmental documentary "Before the Flood", is reportedly stuck in New York until Wednesday. Now JT and his actress wife are set to take it over. They will hold the fundraiser at their own home also in El Lay.
Leo's cancellation came after he was linked to a $3 billion Malaysian embezzlement scheme, but Clinton campaign spokesman Josh Schwerin said the cancellation had nothing to do with the embezzlement report. He told The Hollywood Reporter, "If we could have had the event at his home, we would have loved to. He was gracious enough to find us a new host. We hope to do something with him in the future."
