The latest One Direction member to go solo is the boyfriend of Cheryl Cole after he announced a deal with Capitol Records.

AceShowbiz - Another One Direction member is flying solo. Liam Payne has just announced that he has been signed to Capitol Records for solo album. This adds fuel to the long-running rumors suggesting that 1D has broken up for good.

"Very happy to have signed to my new record label Capitol Records," Payne says. "They have such an amazing history of artists, I hope I can follow in the footsteps. One direction will always be my home and family but I'm very excited to see what this chapter brings."

He is also guest-judging on "America's Got Talent". Meanwhile, Zayn Malik has left the group to go solo even before the boyband wrapped up their tour.
