AceShowbiz - Lady GaGa is facing backlash from her Chinese fans. The Mother Monster is criticized after she met Dalai Lama who has been branded a separatist by the country's government. Although her music still can be accessed online, there was a speculation that she might be banned.
"We hope that people from the international community can be fully aware of his true colors and nature," Chinese foreign ministry spokesman Hong Lei said. "The purpose of his visits and activities in other countries is just to promote his proposal for Tibetan independence."
The "Born This Way" hitmaker sat down with the Tibetan spiritual leader during the 84th annual Conference of Mayors in Indianapolis. They talked about love and compassion. The chat was live-streamed on Facebook and the photos were shared all over the internet.
The singer posted pictures from the event on her Instagram along with some inspirational quotes. She shared one from the Dalai Lama, "Hope is essential to keep the world going." Meanwhile, her message was: "Kindness is a free currency from a well that will never dry up."
Dalai Lama was forced to flee Tibet into exile in India after a failed uprising against the Chinese government in 1959. The Nobel peace laureate was accused by the country's Communist leadership of trying to split Tibet from China.
