Avicii Cancels Remaining Las Vegas Tour Dates

The Swedish DJ axes all upcoming shows scheduled to take place at XS Nightclub and Encore Beach Club due to 'personal reasons.'
Months after announcing his retirement from touring, Avicii disappointed fans again when he canceled the remaining dates on his Las Vegas residency. XS Nightclub and Encore Beach Club both revealed the news via social media on Friday, May 13, citing "personal reasons."

"Due to personal reasons @Avicii has cancelled all his 2016 dates," read an Instagram post from Encore Beach Club. "As a result we are pleased to announce that @DillonFrancis will be his replacement this Saturday."

Avicii's representatives later confirmed the cancellation to Billboard and clarified that the EDM star's other shows on his tour are still scheduled to go on as planned.

The Swedish DJ announced his plan to stop touring back in March after repeatedly dealing with health issues while on the road in the past. "My choices and career have never been driven by material things, although I'm grateful for all the opportunities and comforts my success has availed me. I know I am blessed to be able to travel all around the world and perform, but I have too little left for the life of a real person behind the artist," he said in an open letter on his website back then.

"I will however never let go of music," he continued. "I will continue to speak to my fans through it, but I've decided this 2016 run will be my last tour and last shows. Let's make them go out with a bang! One part of me can never say never, I could be back ... but I won't be right back."
