Gina Rodriguez took to Instagram to share a photo of herself showing off her new haircut. The "Jane the Virgin" actress chopped off her long hair and shaved the sides and the back of her head on Monday, May 2.
In the photo she uploaded, she was seen standing sideways while rocking sunglasses as she let fans take a look at her new haircut. "Annihilation. #AnyaThorensen," she captioned the photo. One of her followers praised her, saying, "LOVE IT!!!! You rock Gina." Meanwhile, some other fans noted that Gina had some small tattoos on her neck. "Looks good Gina and didn't know you had any tattoos," one user wrote.
Previously on Tuesday, May 3, the 31-year-old actress wrote on Twitter, "Easily 5lbs lighter. And yesterday I shaved my head. Can't wait to show everyone!" She also hinted that she was ready to have short hair. "Short hair, don't care," she wrote. "Ha. Not true. It'll take some adjusting. I'll just be a little crazy till the fairy dust settles!"
The actress chopped off her hair for her upcoming role in sci-fi movie "Annihilation". Adapted from Jeff VanderMeer's novel, the movie centers on a biologist who signs up for a dangerous, secret expedition where the laws of nature don't apply.
Rodriguez, who had long wavy hair before, donated her hair to Locks of Love, an organization that provides hairpieces to financially disadvantaged children in the U.S. and Canada.
