The sneak peek for the penultimate episode of season 2 once again teases a possible death as tension is rising between Lucious and his son Jamal.

AceShowbiz - While Cookie and Lucious continue to put on united front to save Empire and their family, a tension is rising between Lucious and his son Jamal. In a preview for the next episode of "Empire", the Lyon patriarch grabs Jamal by the throat and restrains himself from punching his son as he tells Jamal that he has disappointed him. Cookie's effort to play a peacemaker between the two doesn't work as Jamal talks about his father with hatred.
Meanwhile, the family attends the America Sound Awards where Cookie promises a performance that will show what "a real family" is. "We ain't even the Jacksons. We are the Lyons," she says on the red carpet. But the event is marred by a shooting as the video teases that "one Lyon will fall."
"Rise by Sin", the penultimate episode of season 2, airs Wednesday, May 11 at 9/8c on FOX. Hakeem feels the pressure of his underwhelming fiance, Laura, as he struggles to find a place for her both in his family and his career. Cookie finally reveals to Jamal the truth behind what happened to Freda's father, prompting Jamal to warn Freda of his family's ulterior motives. Meanwhile, despite his frustration with the family, Jamal makes a sacrifice for Lucious from which it will be hard to recover.
