WB chairman and CEO Kevin Tsujihara has confirmed at CinemaCon that the solo Batman movie is in the works with Affleck as actor and director.

AceShowbiz - There had been reports that Ben Affleck was writing a script for a standalone Batman movie and now Warner Bros. has given the project a go. WB chairman and CEO Kevin Tsujihara confirmed on Tuesday, April 12 at CinemaCon in Las Vegas that a solo Batman movie is indeed in the works with Affleck attached to it.

Tsujihara didn't specifically said that Affleck would be writing and directing the standalone movie, but he mentioned him as one of the "filmmakers" working on future DC movies. Later in a press release, WB. confirmed that the Oscar-winning filmmaker would be directing the movie.

Affleck will likely also reprise his role as the Caped Crusader in the standalone movie. William Morris Endeavor co-CEO Patrick Whitesell, whose agency represents the actor, said in March that Affleck had signed up to appear in "at least 'Justice League [Part] One' and 'Two'."

Affleck made his debut as Bruce Wayne a.k.a. Batman in "Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice" which was panned by critics despite its box office success. He will also make a cameo in supervillain movie "Suicide Squad".
