Sarah Palin is heading to Alaska to look after her husband Todd, who's involved in a terrible snowmobile accident on Sunday, March 13. According to the Iron Dog, the organizers of a 2000-mile snowmobile race Todd competes in every year, the 51-year-old man is in serious, but stable condition at a local hospital in Anchorage, Alaska.

A source said that Todd had "a variety of internal injuries" and was scheduled to undergo surgery, but he's in "excellent" health. Kevin Kastner, executive director of the Iron Dog, claimed he learned from Todd's father that "in general, Todd's got some serious injuries but it doesn't appear to be life-threatening at the moment."

"There are just some things they need to work on and they won't have an answer until probably tomorrow for a further assessment of what's going on," Kevin shared. "He was obviously hurt badly, they were able to bring him in and he's stable."

Sarah was in Florida campaigning for GOP frontrunner Donald Trump when her husband was injured. Shortly after news broke that the former governor of Alaska's husband had been hospitalized following the severe snowmobile accident, the Trump campaign released a statement canceling Sarah's appearance.

Sarah later took to Facebook to thank everyone who has supported her husband and sent their prayers for him. "Todd is our rock... toughest guy I know. Thank you for your prayers as he recovers following a snowmachine accident last night," Sarah wrote. "You know, your prayers have meant so much to our family over the years and I've not thanked you enough for providing us that shield of faith. God bless you, too!"

Daughter Bristol Palin also posted a similar message on Instagram. She uploaded a photo of her beloved dad which she captioned, "toughest guy I know, thank you for all the love and support."
