Robert Downey Jr. Doesn't Think 'Iron Man 4' Will Happen
Movie

'I don't think that's in the cards,' the actor says of the possibility of him headlining another 'Iron Man' film.

It looks like we won't get another Iron Man solo movie. While previous reports said Marvel planned to make the fourth film to be headlined by the superhero, Robert Downey Jr. himself revealed in a new interview with USA Today that "Iron Man 4" sounded unlikely.

"I don't think that's in the cards," said the actor, who will reprise his role as Tony Stark in the upcoming "Captain America: Civil War". "In a way it's 'Cap 3' but for me it's like my little 'Iron Man 4'."

He added, "And then it's back to the thing we all recognize. Everything pulls over to the side of the road when the thunder of an Avengers thing comes through because that's how it is until it changes. If it changes."

Downey first appeared as Iron Man in 2008's "Iron Man", which grossed more than $2 billion worldwide. After facing off with the Cap in the next "Captain America" film, which is hitting U.S. theaters on May 6, the 50-year-old star will head to "Avengers: Infinity War Part I" in 2018 and "Avengers:Infinity War Part II" in 2019.
