The 83-year-old artist was rushed on Friday night, February 26 to Mount Sinai Roosevelt hospital, the same place her husband John Lennon was pronounced dead in 1980.

AceShowbiz - Yoko Ono is being hospitalized in New York City with what her rep has just revealed is "serious flu." Following reports that she was rushed to Mount Sinai Roosevelt hospital on Friday night, February 26 for a possible stroke, her long-time spokesman Elliot Mintz made it clear that she was taken to the hospital on the advice of her doctor.

"She had symptoms along the lines of a serious flu, and her doctor thought it was best that she would get a check-up at the hospital," Mintz said in a statement to ABC News. "There is no stroke and there are no life threatening circumstances as has been described to me. It's just an advanced case of the flu."

As multiple reports point out, the hospital where Ono's being treated is formerly known as St. Luke's Roosevelt Hospital and is the same place her husband John Lennon was pronounced dead after being shot in 1980. Ono, who celebrated her 83rd birthday last week, will spend a night there and is expected to be released on Saturday.

According to previous report by PageSix, Ono called 911 at around 9 P.M. on Friday and told operators she feared she was having a stroke. CBS News even stated that she was unconscious when transported to the hospital.
