Other A-listers taking the stage at the awards event included Drake, who joined RiRi for their 'Work', and Lorde, who covered 'Life of Mars?' as a tribute to the late David Bowie.

AceShowbiz - Rihanna and Adele might disappoint fans at the 2016 Grammy Awards earlier this month, but they both did nothing but slay their respective performance at the 2016 BRIT Awards on Wednesday, February 24. After canceling her Grammy appearance and the first few dates on her tour, RiRi finally took the stage and treated fans to the live version of her latest hit, "Work".

She began her set with another song off her "Anti" album called "Consideration". Later, she brought out a bunch of all-black-clad dancers during "Work". Drake emerged onstage towards the end of the song and allowed the Bajan singer to recreate some raunchy moves from its recently-released music video.

Following her criticized Grammy performance, which was plagued by technical issues, Adele brought down the house with a flawless rendition of "When We Were Young". Wearing a sparkling red-and-golden dress, the 27-year-old effortlessly hit the high notes as she closed out the ceremony.

Justin Bieber, The Weeknd and Lorde were among other musicians performing that night. The Biebs literally set the stage on fire when he played a medley of "Love Yourself" and "Sorry", which both are No. 1 hits from his "Purpose" album. Fellow Canadian singer The Weeknd also wowed viewers with his own chart-topper, "The Hills".

Meanwhile, Lorde delivered a powerful tribute to David Bowie, who that night was pothumously honored with Icon Award. The tribute started with the late musician's backing band from his last tour in 2003 playing instrumental medley of his songs, including "Space Oddity", "Rebel Rebel" and "Let's Dance". Lorde joined the band later for a cover of "Life on Mars?".

The 2016 BRIT Awards took place at the O2 Arena in London. Adele was the biggest winner of the event, bagging four awards including the British Album of the Year for "25" and British Female Solo Artist.
