Kanye West may be one of the most famous rappers in the U.S., but what if he still has a strong desire to win a singing contest? With the help of wife Kim Kardashian, Kanye proved that he possessed a sense of humor by auditioning for "American Idol" in a spoof video to promote the new series.

Back in October, Kim headed to San Fransisco to support Kanye, who participated in the faux audition. He surprised judges Jennifer Lopez, Keith Urban and Harry Connick Jr. as he sang his own song "Gold Digger" in front of them.

Earlier this week, Kim shared on Twitter a short video showing the audition process. The video starts with Kim taking Kanye to the audition room as the rapper introduces himself, "My name is Kanye. I'm from the south side of Chicago. I'm originally a producer. I always wanted to rap, but no one really believed in me so I wanted to try some things out."

While her husband is in the audition room, Kim, who was heavily pregnant at the time of filming, is asked by host Ryan Seacrest if she's nervous. "I'm not nervous because I do really believe in him," Kim answers.

The video ends with Kanye emerging from the audition room as Kim asks him, "Did you make it to Hollywood?" Unfortunately, the video doesn't show the rapper performing his song in front of the judges.

The 15th and farewell season of "American Idol" will be released with a two-night four-hour event on Wednesday, January 6 and Thursday, January 7 beginning at 8 P.M on FOX.
