The reboot of 1994's action crime movie is still happening despite Relativity Media bankruptcy, according to director Corin Hardy.

AceShowbiz - "The Crow" remake had been in pre-production this summer, but the movie suffered a setback after Relativity Media filed for bankruptcy in July. While people assumed that the movie wouldn't move forward anytime soon, filmmaker Corin Hardy makes it clear that the reboot is happening and production is slated to begin in March.

Talking to EW, Hardy expresses his excitement about being involved as director. " 'The Crow' is happening. I'm going to make it! We were making it, and it was going very well, until this Relativity situation occurred. But it's something that I'm very excited about, very passionate about. We're all waiting to resume preproduction," the director explains.

"Ed Pressman ('Wall Street 2: Money Never Sleeps', 1994's 'The Crow') is the producer. Creatively, everyone's excited. Relativity is sorting itself out - which I can't speak about. But you can read about it online," he adds.

Hardy also says that he will look for a new leading man after Jack Huston, who was set to star in the film, left the project once production was postponed. "That was to do with timing. It's another fresh start! Basically, keep watching, and early next year we'll be cracking on again," Hardy says.
