Heidi Klum took home a giant plastic snail from the 7th annual Milan amfAR auction on Saturday, September 26. The "Project Runway" host, who chaired the benefit event, pleaded with her 29-year-old boyfriend, Vito Schnabel, to purchase the sculpture for her at the fundraiser.
"Vito, I thought you were going to buy me the snail!" 42-year-old Klum reportedly said from the stage as bidding heated up. According to The Associated Press, Schnabel won the 11-foot snail by the Europe-based Cracking Art Group for $22,000. Klum said she wanted to put it in her garden.
Accompanied by her art dealer beau, Heidi Klum came to the event in an Atelier Versace dress. Meanwhile, "Fifty Shades of Grey" actress Dakota Johnson opted for a black strapless dress by Dior. "The Man From U.N.C.L.E." actor Luca Calvani was also in attendance at La Permanente in Italy.
The amfAR charity taking place during Milan Fashion Week is held benefit AIDS research with goal to find a cure by 2020. Johnson introduced Debbie Harry's performance, calling her "my personal perception of cool." The Blondie singer, now 70, performed "Heart of Glass" and "Call Me".
