The Canadian crooner becomes the first act to score No. 1 singles back-to-back since November 2014, when Taylor Swift replaced her 'Shake It Off' with 'Blank Space'.

AceShowbiz - The Weeknd didn't have to wait too long to have his next No. 1 single on Billboard Hot 100. The Canadian singer's "The Hills" rises to the top slot of this week's chart from last week's No. 2, ultimately dethroning his other hit "Can't Feel My Face" which is now sitting at No. 3.

Billboard notes that The Weeknd becomes the first act in nearly a year to score No. 1 singles back-to-back. The last to do so was Taylor Swift, who replaced her "Shake It Off" with "Blank Space" back in November 2014. He, however, is the first male act to bump himself from the chart's No. 1 since T.I. in 2008.

After learning of the news, the 25-year-old crooner shared his excitement in some tweets he posted on Monday, September 21. "THE HILLS HIT NUMBER 1 !!!!" he wrote. "WE STOLE THE NUMBER ONE SPOT FROM OURSELVES! XO DID THAT."

In addition to ruling Billboard Hot 100, The Weeknd is topping Billboard 200 with his sophomore effort "Beauty Behind the Madness". The parent album of his two No. 1 singles earns its third consecutive week atop the list with another 99,000 equivalent units.
