Jared Leto and Chris Evans are in talks to star in Dreamworks' drama thriller "The Girl on the Train (2017)", according to The Hollywood Reporter. Leto and Evans will join previously-announced cast members such as Emily Blunt, Rebecca Ferguson (II) and Haley Bennett.

The movie recounts a story of a jobless woman named Rachel (Blunt) who spends her daily train ride fantasizing about the seemingly perfect couple living in a house that she passes. She later finds herself involved in a mystery revolving around the married couple.

Ferguson portrays Anna, the former mistress who marries Rachel's ex-husband. Bennett is set to play Megan, a married neighbor whom Rachel's ex is having an affair with. If Leto and Evans end up taking parts in the movie, they will play Tom, the ex-husband, and the neighbor's husband respectively.

The movie is based on Paula Hawkins' best-selling novel of the same name. Erin Cressida Wilson already began the adaptation process even before the novel was published in January and sold over 2 million copies worldwide. Tate Taylor directs while Marc Platt produces the movie. The studio hasn't announced the official release date just yet, but "The Girl on the Train" is expected to arrive in the U.S. in 2017.
