Woody Harrelson is added to "War of the Planet of the Apes" cast ensemble, joining Gabriel Chavarria. "The Hunger Games" star is expected to play a villainous character called the Colonel in the upcoming third installment of "Planet of the Apes" reboot.

Despite rumors that Chavarria would play one of key human characters, The Hollywood Reporter learns that his part is actually a small one. Any of the returning cast including Andy Serkis who did motion capture for Caesar is yet to be announced.

Director Matt Reeves and screenwriter Mark Bomback from the previous installment, "Dawn of the Planet of the Apes", are set to return for the new entry. It was originally planned for a 2016 release but it was later pushed back a year to July 14, 2017.

Woody Harrelson will soon return on the big screen in "The Hunger Games: Mockingjay, Part 2" due November 20. He is currently shooting a drama about President Lyndon B. Johnson. He is also attached to "Now You See Me: The Second Act".
