Elizabeth Olsen: Scarlet Witch Is 'Wild Card' in 'Captain America: Civil War'

The actress who portrays the mind-manipulating superheroine calls her character 'the wild card' of the upcoming movie and additionally hints at her new skills.

AceShowbiz - Fans may be wondering why Black Panther and Scarlet Witch didn't appear in any of "Captain America: Civil War" concept art. While promoting her upcoming movie "I Saw the Light" at the Toronto International Film Festival, Elizabeth Olsen hinted that Scarlet Witch would be the film's "wild card."

"She's doing alright," Olsen told MTV News. "She's confused, she's conflicted. She's found some people she thinks she connects with, but she's doing alright. They released images of Team Cap and Team Iron Man. She wasn't there. She's always the wild card. I like being the wild card."

The picture Olsen talked about were the promo arts Jeremy Renner shared through his Twitter account. The images revealed the members of Team Cap and Team Iron Man and showed them engaging in battle with each other, where Scarlet Witch and Black Panter were noticeably absent.

Olsen also teased some new tricks for her character that people could expect to see in the upcoming superhero movie. The telekinetic and mind-manipulating superhero may enhance her ability as she is listed as a member of the new Avengers.

"It's not a new hand technique, per se," she said. "We're trying to grow her movement as a whole... [trained dancer] Jenny [White] and I have great pride in trying to make this a huge transformation - the next time we see her - of her abilities."

"Civil War" will pick up where "Avengers: Age of Ultron" left off, as Steve Rogers leads the new team of Avengers in their continued efforts to safeguard humanity. Chris Evans, Scarlett Johansson, Robert Downey Jr., Chadwick Boseman, Anthony Mackie and Martin Freeman star in the movie which is slated for a release on May 6, 2016.
